The purpose of the award is to honor J. Alton Wingate, founder of FSI, and to recognize a member of the FSI family who valiantly served in the United States armed forces, inspires others with their top leadership and continues to give to this country through their commitment to enhance the lives and occupations of those within the financial industry sector as well as the customers and/or members to which they serve. The person chosen for this award will be recognized at FSI's National Retail Banking Conference.

The below form must be completed and submitted by January 31. Nominations received after this date will be reviewed and considered for the next year.

Each nominee should meet the following criteria for consideration:.

• Nominees must be actively working for or recently retired from an FSI Member* institution.
• A Veteran who served a minimum of two years active duty in the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Navy, Space Force, Army National Guard, or the Air National Guard.
• A Veteran who, after having served, continues their public service by giving back to their community or by making outstanding contributions to our society.
  
  

*An FSI Member is defined as an individual working at or with an FSI Member Branch, which is currently open for business, or who has attended FSI's Executive Planning or In-Store Sales Training workshop. An FSI Member Branch is a branch facility that is currently under a Consulting/Training Agreement with Financial Supermarkets, Inc. Some limitations apply.

Nominees are received throughout the year and reviewed by an internal team of FSI staff which selects one notable recipient annually. Recipients are acknowledged annually at the FSI National Retail Banking Conference.
